Ghardaïa is a commune in the wilaya of Ghardaïa in Algeria, of which it is the capital, located 600 km south of Algiers. Ghardaïa is also the name of the main ksar of the pentapolis of the Mzab valley, founded in the 11th century by the Ibadi Mozabites.
